Healing the Whole Person
One aspect of Craig’s approach is the identification of dissociative parts. Dissociation is typically brought up in reference to war or abuse or severe trauma, but in reality it can occur any time a person experiences something that hurts or overwhelms them. In these moments, humans respond by segregating the experience within a separate “part” of their mind. These parts appear to protect for a time, but the negative emotions will eventually bleed out into the rest of a person’s life, causing anxieties, relational difficulties, and many other issues.
Craig works with his clients to recognize their dissociative parts where applicable, then invites God to restore the scattered fragments to their original wholeness. As the distortions are illuminated, many individuals can finally experience the intense peace and healing that had been eluding them.
